Since the 1985-1986 debate is tomorrow, I thought that I would upload a few more shows from the tour to talk about my views! This show was originally purchased by that crazy British subscriber named "Elton Bootlegs" (thank you for that), and he wanted me to re-upload it! I pitch-corrected the show (since it ran 25 cents slow), and slightly EQ'd the sound (to get some of the distortion out). This recording has pretty good quality, but sadly is incomplete (it misses "Better Off Dead," "Someone Saved My Life Tonight," and all the songs after "I'm Still Standing").

Elton turned 39 during this date, and what better way to celebrate? Put on an excellent concert in Basel! The atmosphere is fantastic on this recording, and Elton is in a wonderful mood! This catapults Elton and the band to perform an excellent show! Elton sounds great on the show, and often embellishes songs randomly (no doubt because of the party atmosphere)! He sings great versions of "Tonight" (he actually sounds less rough than most 1985 versions, and hits the A4s in FULL voice--as opposed to falsetto. The last falsetto note is brilliant!), "Rocket Man" (the last version where he hits the majority of the Bb4s), "Philadelphia Freedom" (nails most of the key notes--and is second best to the great version from Lille), "Burn Down The Mission," "The Bitch Is Back," "Paris" (candidate for the best version ever), "Restless" (has tons of obnoxious phrasing), "Bennie And The Jets" (the last known version where he hits clean B4s in some way), "Cry To Heaven," "This Town," "Nikita," and "I'm Still Standing!"

ENJOY!!!

Note 1: The band performs "Happy Birthday" after "Bennie And The Jets." The crowd also sings to Elton!

Note 2: Elton thanks everybody for the flowers and cards at the end of the band introduction!

Note 3: Out of the available recordings, this is the last show where Elton go for some of the key higher notes on songs (like "Rocket Man," "Philadelphia Freedom," "Bennie And The Jets," etc). After this show, he would perform more conservative versions of some songs.
