Since the debate got postponed until this Friday, I thought I would review a few shows to future prepare myself (so I can kick Elton Bootlegs’ arse in the debate)! This show was Elton Bootlegs’ first ever official purchase of a show from the North American leg of the 1985/6 tour! We must thank him for this show! This is a great show from this leg, and ranks among the best of the August/September shows! The quality is great (though it's pretty bass-heavy), and it's mostly complete (the band introduction and "Love Song" are cut)! With the excellent crowd, Elton's great mood, and the brilliant music being played, this show isn't one to ignore (though the shows a week from this date are)!

24 hours earlier, Elton performed in Saratoga and sounded mostly terrible: He was suffering from laryngitis/pneumonia, and featured some of the worst vocal performances on the 1986 tour! Although this may cause a sense of caution when approaching this show, it's nothing significantly worrying: Elton has surprisingly recovered some of his voice (how he managed to do that is beyond me), and proceeds to deliver some very "brave" renditions of songs! Every performance sounds better than Saratoga's, and there isn't as many cringe-worthy moments! He's able to sing "Tonight" fairly well (though he sounds rough in spots), hit some decent falsettos on "Rocket Man" and "Philadelphia Freedom," sing a pretty good version of "Burn Down The Mission," and delivers energetic versions of "Restless," "Bennie And The Jets," "This Town," and "I'm Still Standing." His voice does still sound "sick-sounding," and sometimes will give out in spots--but it's not as bad as Saratoga or the shows from early September (except the first Philadelphia show)!

Note 1: Pete Townshend and Rod Stewart sabotage the guitars during the "The Bitch Is Back!" Elton makes note of it!

Note 2: Elton forgets the lyrics to "Your Song" and acknowledges it!
