My 4th show in 4 days. Belfast 9th of January 1986.
While this is one of Elton's first 1986 concerts this concert is one of the finest Elton performances you'll find. Later on during 1986 Elton would lose his vocal more or less, but at this concert Elton is carrying on the great 1985 voice - he has no problems of hitting the high notes.
The quality of the recording is pretty bad though, but still listenable.
I can't get enough of his phrasing on the 3rd chorus of Bennie And The Jets. He fucks up the album phrasing and make his own hilarious phrasing which is very characteristic during this period.

For the first upload of the New Year, I thought that I would share one of my absolute favorite Elton John concerts of all time! My English friend "Elton Bootlegs" purchased this show awhile back, and was kind enough to send me a copy (love that man)! After touching it up slightly (fixing the playback speed), this show has been constantly played on my iTunes, and has been in my MP3 player for months! I'd like to thank Elton Bootlegs for allowing me to listen to this epic show! I also want to thank EltonJohnGigs for being the first person on YouTube to upload the show!

When people associate the words "Elton John," "live," and "1986" together, they usually think of Elton's later 1986 shows: Excellent music performances, but with bad vocals (The Australian shows, and Los Angeles are the main targets)! Over the course of a year, myself and a few dedicated fans (Elton Bootlegs, tsskiller08, bsizzy17, and EltonJohnGigs), have purchased, traded, uploaded, and sent various shows from the 1986 era of Elton all over the place! We've painted a big gigantic picture of Elton's voice situation (it's pretty detailed--we'll explain in comments and on the upcoming debate about this tour)! Although Elton's voice was pretty much shot in the later months of 1986, the spring months featured some surprisingly great vocals that rivaled his 1985 live material (see Madrid, Lille, Paris, Basel, and Munich for the majority of those vocals)! Now, we've come to the (possible) best 1986 concert for Elton!

As EltonJohnGigs said on his description for this show: "At this concert, Elton is carrying on the great 1985 voice--he has no problems hitting the high notes." That statement cannot be disputed: Elton is in superb voice, and delivers some of his best performances on the entire tour (and possibly on the UK leg itself)! He sings excellent versions of "Tonight" (he absolutely nails the final "Tonight" at the end of the song--very smooth falsetto!), "One Horse Town" (possibly the best version ever), "Better Off Dead," "Rocket Man" (tons of great phrasing), "Burn Down The Mission" (despite the ending getting saved by Charlie Morgan), "Someone Saved My Life Tonight" (best 1986 version in my book), "The Bitch Is Back," "Restless," "Passengers" (excellent trombone solo by Rick Taylor), "Bennie And The Jets" (the final known version where Elton nails all the B4s in the chorus parts), "This Town," "I'm Still Standing," "Wrap Her Up," "Candle In The Wind" (possibly the best version on the entire tour), and "Can I Get A Witness!"

This concert is complete, and has pretty good quality (though it is a bit distant). The audience is very enthusiastic, and there's some great crowd banter throughout the show!
