My next two uploads will come from the city of Montreal! The first one comes from the year 1986 and is about ten days into Elton's US tour!
Requested by GregsynthWizard, this show is in good quality but is sadly incomplete with both encores missing and there are cuts throughout too! Elton's voice sounds decent but he is beginning to get the strained sick sound on his voice (Saratoga shows this) but he is able to hit some decent notes throughout the show and some falsetto but he does more growling notes in songs more noticeably than Kansas or Bloomington. Examples of good songs on the show include One Horse Town which is one of the last good conservative versions, Better Off Dead which is like most versions on the tour, Rocket Man which contains falsetto but less of it than the early US versions, Philadelphia Freedom which has Elton hit the "shine a light" notes still in head voice but some sound strained although it isn't too bad compared to later versions, Someone Saved My Life Tonight is a good amended version however the strained tone is settling in, The Bitch Is Back which has fun oversinging, Levon which is better than some on the tour, Paris which is a very nice version with hardly any oversinging, Restless with funny phrasing plus wrong lyrics makes it an interesting version and Love Song which is excellent and has fantastic embellishments which makes it a top version! But some songs don't sound too hot such as Bennie And The Jets which has Elton do some random phrasing that doesn't sound nice and I'm Still Standing which is the first to contain the bad variety of angry birds! All in all, this is a great show with the band putting in great performances! Enjoy!
